A safari, 66 million years ago

"We spent all morning tracking them. After a few hours, one of the other park guides spotted the T. rex family and told us via radio where they were. We rushed to their location, and sure enough, the parents and young made their way through the dense foliage towards the river, crossing the dirt road right in front of us. Their bloody faces and bloated bellies showed they just fed on a large kill, likely an old Edmontosaurus, so we knew they weren't hunting, which allowed us to get so close. Still, with the young around, the mother had her eye on us, while the father was close by, making sure the coast was clear. Even after all my years working on Hell Creek Safari, seeing these incredible creatures up close is a magical experience. I'm so lucky that I get to do what I do."
